Look back at sermon notes from each Shepherds Conference 2025 general session.
General Session 1 — Abner Chou
The motivation for missions has to be, fundamentally, the glory and the worthiness of Christ.
Our people do not need cheap tricks. They don’t need to be manipulated. They need Christ. Give them Christ. And when they have Him, when they behold Him, when they are captured by Him, they will go to the ends of the earth for Him.
General Session 2 — Joel Beeke
As the people of God, we have the privilege of being part of a magnificent enterprise. God doesn’t need us whatsoever, but He invites us to participate in what He is doing in the world. Something far bigger, far better, far greater than ourselves, and something that will endure forever in the eternal kingdom.
General Session 3 — Michael Reeves
The glory of God makes Christians delight to lift Him up. Because the only true God is so full, so overflowing with life, mission simply flows from who He is. When we proclaim Him, we are joining in with a preexisting mission that does not depend on us for its genesis or its momentum.
General Session 4 — Conrad Mbewe
We have a perfect sacrifice, a perfect gift, given to us freely from a perfect God. Surely we of all people should want to proclaim the gospel to all. We should be moved to go to lands where Christ is not known and be willing to pay with our very lives so that men and women might come to know this great God.
If God's power has transformed us, how can we be ashamed of His gospel?
General Session 5 — H.B. Charles
Isaiah 6 is a reminder that the gospel is about God and His glory, not man and his needs. Our God is sovereign, our God is holy, and our God is gracious, wherever He calls us.
General Session 6 — Mike Riccardi
In John 1:15–18, we find four excellencies that set the Lord Jesus Christ far above everyone and everything, that feed our faith, and that strengthen our souls to declare Him to all the nations.
General Session 7 — Josiah Grauman
The truth of divine election, when properly understood, should motivate us to proclaim Christ to the ends of the earth.
General Session 8 — Joel Beeke
The powerful, life-giving Holy Spirit can and does change human hearts, and He will continue to do so until the end of time. We can get up and preach with confidence because of His power.
General Session 9 — Nathan Busenitz
There’s only one true compass, one true source, and one true guide: it is the Word of God which points to the God of the Word. We know the way because we have a sure guide. Let us be careful to lead our sheep in the right way and to not neglect the truth of God’s Word.
General Session 10 — Austin Duncan
The book of Jonah teaches us that God is more gracious, more compassionate, more pursuing, and more loving than we are. There is no missionary endeavor to any unreached people that goes beyond God’s compassion.
General Session 11 — Paul Washer
In Jesus Christ, the perfect man, we see the perfect example of prayer. We must be faithful disciples, following and imitating Him.
General Session 12 — H.B. Charles
Isaiah 55 reminds us that the magnitude of our message is the motivation for our mission. God graciously extends a great invitation for guilty sinners to get right with Him.
